1. Call to Order 7:00 p.m.
The New Jersey Open Public Meetings Law was enacted to insure the right of the public to have advance notice of and to attend the meetings of public bodies at which any business affecting their interests is discussed or acted upon. In accordance with the provisions of this Act, the Randolph Township Board of Education has caused notice of this meeting to be published by having the date, time and place thereof posted in the Daily Record. It is also posted in all district schools as well as the Randolph Township Municipal Building.

Personnel and Administration
A. Motion to approve the attached superintendent’s contract:
I. Administrators
New Hires
 1.  Approve the appointment of Owen Snyder as Superintendent of Schools effective June 9, 2009 through June 30, 2012. The annual salary of $189,000 will be pro-rated for the 2008-2009 school year. Subsequent salary increases will be subject to the terms of the contract specified in 3. Compensation A2 Additional Merit Increases.
B.  WHEREAS, Dr. James M. Sheerin is appointed by the Board of Education to serve as Interim Superintendent, and,
WHEREAS, Dr. Sheerin’s term as Interim Superintendent will expire on June 8, 2009, and under the terms of Dr. Sheerin’s contract he was granted the right to accrue vacation time.
 
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that Dr. Sheerin be hired to act as a consultant to the permanent Superintendent for up to fifteen and one-half (15.5) days at a rate of eight hundred dollars ($800.00) per day, and,
 
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that Dr. Sheerin be on site with the permanent Superintendent for five (5) of the fifteen and one-half (15.5) days and the remainder of the days, Dr. Sheerin will use ten and one-half (10.5) vacation days he accrued during his tenure as Interim Superintendent.
